In 2012, a young 25-year-old lady reached out to me and said she was having a "quarter-life crisis." She was a good employee, graduated college with a 4.0, and was seen as a leader by her peers.
At the time, I was putting the finishing touches on a personal leadership development program I designed for my current employees to confidently manage today’s world and accelerate their growth as leaders. I knew if I surrounded myself with leaders at all levels of management, we would grow faster and achieve more together. At the time, I also realized the cumulative impact that social media and technology were having on the workforce.
As a result, I was filling the program (Project OTY) with the best of the best in terms of personal development, leadership development, social and emotional development, critical thinking, and mindset training, along with personal philosophies developed over a career of leading 20,000 employees and working with over 100,000 leaders in just about every industry imaginable.
At the time, my goal was to create an individualized program that consistently led to more empowered leaders. I wanted this program to take a different approach. Instead of a mix of surface-level training that talked about “why leadership is important” and “what it means to find your purpose,” I created a 16-step program that walks every future leader through exactly how to make their life and career visions a reality.
With the program fully completed, I asked this young lady if she'd like to be the first to experience it. She said yes. Over the next few weeks, she identified 20 bullet points that represented her 10-year vision of success in all areas of her life. Together, we dug deep into the fears she would need to manage, who she could lean on for support, the goals to measure her progress, and the next steps she could take.
In less than two years, she achieved 18 of the 20 bullet points (that's 90% of her goals achieved)! That's AWESOME! This was the moment I fully realized the power of the Project OTY program that was coming together.
Since then, I have shared this program in education, business, and 1-on-1 with individuals looking to accelerate their growth as a leader in their lives and the lives of others. Over 10,000 people have now experienced this program and nearly 99% of people report they feel more organized, focused, motivated, and confident in their future.
